2022 Winter CAS-JSPS Workshop in Cosmology, Gravitation and Particle Physics

Based on the CAS-JSPS bilateral program, researchers and students from Czech Republic, Japan and third countries meet together to exchange ideas and to discuss recent topics in cosmology, gravitation and particle physics, to promote ongoing and to foster future collaboration.

PRELIMINARY LIST OF PARTICIPANTS

On December 12, 16, 17 the workshop will take place at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences (FZU) in the north of Prague (Pod Vodárenskou Věží 1, Praha 8). The exact location is the brand new (SOLID 21) building just on the right from the main FZU building above. While in the middle of the week, on December 13, 14, 15, the venue moves to the charming CAS Conference Centre – Castle Třešť south-east of Prague (Dr. Richtra 234, 589 01 Třešť). During Třešť session participants will be accomodated in medieval Castle Třešť. A bus to the Castle Třešť will be provided. While during Prague session participants will be accommodated at the Hotel Belvedere in the charming Letná district in Prague 7.

To get to the Hotel Belvedere from the airport take the 119 bus all the way to the end (Nádraží Veleslavín), then there are two options:
• take Metro A (green line) to Hradčanská (the direction is Depo Hostivař), go outside again to get on any of the trams 1, 8, 25, 26 eastbound and get off at the stop Kamenická.
• take tram number 26 (direction Nádraží Hostivař) directly and get off at Kamenická.
The Hotel Belvedere is 2 minutes' walk down the hill from the stop. The whole route should take approximately 45 minutes. You can purchase the ticket at the airport either at the info centre or at the vending machine just outside arrivals at the bus stop; you will need the 40Kč ticket (90min) from the airport but in general to move around the city the 30Kč (30min) is more than enough. You can also buy 24h or 72h tickets, that are cheaper if you plan to use public transportation more than 4 times a day.

To get from the Hotel to the FZU the best way is to either walk downhill a few minutes to the Vltavská metro stop (Metro C, red line) or go from Kamenická (a block to the left of the hotel) or Strossmayerovo náměstí (a block to the right) to Vltavská with any of the trams 1, 12, 25. From there catch the Metro C (red line, direction Letňany) to Ládví, and walk a few minutes to the FZU (see also here). You can find current transit information at Mapy, Dpp, and Pid.

Alternatively, Bolt, Uber or the local company AAA Taxi are common and cheap options in Prague (expect to pay 300-500CZK or roughly 12-20EUR for a single ride from the airport to Hotel Belvedere or vice versa.

The workshop will take place in person and following all current regulations as indicated by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. For further information please visit its dedicated portal. There will be a welcome dinner on Monday, December 12, to be held in the Georgian Restaurant Kakheti (Google Maps, Mapy) from 18:30 (6:30pm).

We have reserved a few tables at the closest cafeteria Jídelna Slovanka. In addition to that, within walking distance from the Institute of Physics one can find a few restaurants, bistros and cafes. The closest options are
